Coating calander
This coating calander plant was electro-technically modernised.
The drive control system and the PLC have been completely replaced by new technology. The technical mixture of different drive technologies such as DC- and Servo-Drives was equipped with new hardware and software and a new drive concept has been implemented.
The entire control technique is now performed by the S7 software.
Furthermore, a new visualisation uses WinCC as a multi-monitor solution.
In the air-conditioned control room a networked PC is used for maintenance and recipe administration via Access.
These measures have increased the production speed up to 12%, therefore a return on investment was achieved in a very short time.
Coating line
This coating line with subsequent embossing roller produces in several different modes. The various processes demand different combinations of the use of the previous and subsequent parts of the plant. The new drive technology follows these demands and reduced start-up times for production. The necessary temperatures (thermal oil heating and infrared emitters) are controlled by software controllers.

Coating line
This new 5.40 m wide coating line processes PVC and acrylate coating. The visualization and the S7 PLC represent the central control of the plant. The individual operating panels on the plant are networked by Profibus.
Via the various operating panels the associated parts of the plant are locally controlled.
The settings made by the operator on the local operating panels are recorded and saved by the central visualization.
Likewise, the complete drive technology is networked with Profibus.
The speed and torque of the line drives is controlled by dancers and load cells.
The two stenter chains are connected by a electrical shaft to maximize synchronous accuracy.
The accumulator at the inlet and the outlet of the plant allow continuous production.
Farbric tension at the two rewinders is controlled by the drives torque control and is adjusted according to the actual diameter.
Furthermore, the speed of the several ventilators, the positions of the blades and the temperatures are connected by Profibus and controlled by the PLC.
This systematic implementation of modern technology lead to a service-friendly control system.
